Event Details

From facilitators Josie, Jen, Jill, Vasundhara & Barb: FINALLY!!!   It’s been 2 years but with new trainers & new energy, we’re offering the ‘Awakening the Dreamer’ symposium once again.  (details below)

Ideally, you would come with a friend, family member, neighbour or colleague who is concerned about the state of the world, but searching for their unique role to play.  But if you are an activist who just needs some nurturing and inspiration, we welcome you too.

The ‘Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream’ workshop is a half-day transformative journey that educates people on the challenges & possibilities of this moment in time and the role they can play in creating a new sustainable future. The vision of the session is to help shift those individuals ‘concerned’ about the state of the world into the ‘active’ category. The events helps participants to see the unique way in which they can contribute to help build “an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling & social just human presence on this planet.”

There have been over 230,000 symposium participants at 4,000+ events delivered in 80 countries to date.  In previous years this event has been funded by the Adelaide & Mounty Lofty Ranges NRM Board, in cooperation w/ Conservation Council. The process is a series of expert videos shown, with personal reflection time & group exercises. The content was developed by the Achuar Indigeneous peoples in Ecuador (Pachamama means Mother Earth) in alliance with inernational nonprofits.

The symposium is inspiring & uplifting for those currently active on environmental campaigns and in the social justice community. You are welcome to attend to get a top-up to your motivation. However, the idea is fto bring someone along and share the experience.
